A very gentle day with winds from the SE below 10 knots but very pleasant conditions. Its great to see some green on the club lawns again after the rain we had last week. This was the last race for the 2024-25 series so results coming out next race day!

Gentle SSE winds and just the three sailors and Phil. It was very close racing with little separating the yachts.

A very pleasant day with gentle breezes from the SSE to a max of 10 knots. Phil set a very standard course and we went that way. Don again shone in these lighter conditions and blitzed the fleet.

A quiet day - very slow start but the breeze filled in a little later. Dennis had some good races with the Focus he kindly set up for a visitor. We did finish a little early to ensure our storage area in the GRYC club was tidied after some unthinking or unknowing rearrangement at a club working bee. Thanks to Richard et al for labelling our bits. The club will also make clear labels for the shelves.

Another day in paradise with gentlw breezes and mid conditions with plenty of sunshine to brighten the day. Wind from the SE made a good beat out to the jetty buoy and a sedate run back to the Marina. Everyone was up to speed so it was hard work making up any distance for the rear but a most enjoyable day.

What a perfect day for sailing, six sailors enjoying a SSE 8>10 knot breeze, Phil set a great course (going that way) which turned out to be a port course, nice to see Rod Gregory joining us for a sail (50)and thanks Phil for a great organised day.

Well it was touch and go if it was 'B' or 'C' rig weather with 20-30 knot gusts from the North. Phil set an inside port hand course (2 legs!!!) which suited the conditions and made it safer than heading out towards the river. It was a great beat back from the southerly buoy and many a race was won in that area as the breeze kept up (C Rig weather) or it didn't (B Rig weather). Just Ben and Bob sailed with 'C' Rigs.

A nice number of sails on the water with a good 'A' rig weather to match the wonderful [port hand course set by Phil. Racing was close all day and results reflected this. Roger seems to have the edge in these conditions with good boat speed and excellent pointing.

A gentle day with variable winds to 10 knots with many wind shifts making it tricky to navigate the standard course Phil set - not that it would have made any difference if we went elsewhere. Interestingly after 12 races all yachts were on 36 points (ignoring discards) so there was very little between the fleet.

The wind was light and variable generally from the SSW and mostly below 10 knots. Not much between the yachts and the results often affected by who caught the gust first. All good fun though. Not sure how much longer Ben's winch will last as it starts jumping all over the place as the day goes on.

Ah!! Autumn is such a pleasant time steady gentle winds not too hot or cold .... a great day. We had some delays with the SA Teams race yachts and race vessels but we worked around them still managing 16 races.
At a meeting of sailors after the race it was decided to not sail over Easter instead meeting the following Friday. No-one remembered (or said) that this is Anzac day??

Three sailors turned up to sail in the good autumn conditions. 10-15 knot SE wind and 20 C temperature, resulted in some good close racing. Phil sailed a couple of races but found starting on time difficult because of 82's magnetic attraction for the starting pole. Graham had to go home to look for his lid, and did not return to sail. Richard suggested that he may have lifted the lid off some refreshments.

5 of us and Phil today! Another excellent day for 'A' rigs sailing a bulk standard course with few impediments (other than Tilly of course). Even Phil seemed to be a little better and we all hope he recovers quickly from his sore back.

Despite a very sore back our intrepid pro fronted up to allow us to sail normally. That is dedication! - always very much appreciated. % sailors navigated a standard port hand course in perfect sailing conditions for 'A' rigs. Don had some issues during the day with very little separating the others.

Windy day to 25 knots at least in the gusts. All on 'B' rigs for some fun sailing and some mighty reaches back from the jetty buoy. It was too much for Roger at one stage as his jib came loose and Ben had continuing issues with his winch and chose the safe option

Another pleasant day with winds to 10 knots and all on 'A' rigs. Phil set the standard course ands ke[pt the pace up to give us 18 races. Dennis did well and was consistent with his '74' IOM. All enjoyed the day.

With winds to 18 knots it was a time for 'B' rigs. Ben came late and was too late to change and sailed with 'A rig'. Too much wind at times caused problems though some of the down wind legs were exciting. Phil continued with his south going course and leaving all buoys to port - good choice!. Good to see Phil allowing for some hydration (positive and negative)

Another delightful autumn day with winds around 10 knots and somewhat variable from the SSE to SSW and temperature in the low 20s. Phil set a challenging port hand course going South making a good beat to the first mark. Watching the wind shifts was essential as often a port start gave an advantage if you could find a way through the fleet.

Phil set a port hand course going south with S to SE winds of 15 knots. There were 5 boats on the day, 4 on B rig with Dennis the only one on A rig. With the handicaps being close it made for some good sailing. Unfortunately as Dennis had flat battery problems he had to pull out. Tilly kept the peace and kept watch over us all.

A real 'A' rig day for a change with winds front he SSW to 10 knots. Phil set a challenging port hand course and kept us on our toes all day but allowing drink breaks throughout the day. It is important to keep hydrated! Rod dropped down for a while but didn't sail with a generous offer to reward excellence in radio sailing. More on this soon.

Four keen sailors rocked up for a sail on Monday to a variable 10 to 15 knot NW which gradually moved around to the SE. Phil set a starboard course, windward start to the north buoy which changed during afternoon to a reach, we all agreed that it was an interesting afternoon sailing. Thanks Phil PRO and Tilly bodyguard for a job well done and Roger for the usual snack.

Plenty of interruptions to sailing because of the GRYC event and many yachts being launched. Conditions were pleasant with a SSE breeze about 10 knots. Phil again set a windward return course to the SE buoy.

A excellent first Autumn racing day with winds at top of 'A' rig. We sailed to the newly positioned SE buoy. Thanks to Richard, Don and Chris for setting this up Sunday morning. Don was still on his 'B' rig but this hardly slowed him - a good day for Don. Rod had a podium finish after sailing fast all day. It's not easy to negotiate the course from a chair especially with others moving in front of him so well done Rod! We finished the day with another enjoyable drink and nibbles after presenting the Summer Series Monday results - see below!

See below for results from Monday and this one for Friday. Another 8 yacht fleet (eventually) with some arriving late. Most on 'A' rig tho' Don still replacing mast in 'A' rig so sailed with 'B' and did very well. We had a yacht blocking the view to the northerly inner buoy so Phil set a windward return course (porthand of course) to the far SE buoy with two loops finishing on the run. As the wind was from the SSE this worked out well.

Great sailing conditions with a SSE blowing for most of the time - all on 'A' rigs. Racing was close but weed caused havoc at times slowing boats right down. Launching boats at the ramp were also a hazard. Good to see Don back and he looked a million dollars early with two wins to start the day. We finished the day with another delicious platter - absolutely spoiling us - but we rose to the occasion and polished it off. The far buoy was launched from the dinghy and we will continue this for the moment as the rope connecting it to the Marina jammed. Thanks to Richard and Rod for their nautical expertise.

Bob has done it again! Another great day at top of 'A' rigs with plenty of speed on the reaches .Rod had a really good day look at races 8-11!! Welcome to Paul who now realises this sport requires skill and concentration all rewarded in race 15. Roger had some very good races aerly until hisa foresatay gave way. His boat speed to windward in these conditions is impressive.

Five sailors today, the wind was variable 7 > 12 knots ESE everyone managed to get a reed and some of us got them more than once, everyone had a good days sailing and no problems with any of the boats. Many thanks to Toni and Roger for the snacks and Phil PRO for a job well done.

What an exciting day with winds occasionally gusting above 20 knots from the SSW. It requires just a lot of experience (and a dry boat!) to get the best out of these conditions but I'm sure everyone enjoyed the experience. Bob and Peter both sailed very well and were well clear of the rest of us.

Definitely a 'B' rig day but there were light patches! Great sailing though with 7 starters (almost) with battery issues on Chris's 50 preventing him starting. The rest of us enjoyed the sailing until the Hurricane had a forward boom let go along with the mast. Recovery was achieved thanks to some skillful sailing and a favourable wind. By then Chris had 50 back in business. Chris and Letitia both had wins as their skill levels improves heaps.

Pretty well all on 'A' Rigs and some good racing. Bob blitzed the field again! Rod had the better of Letitia but there were times when this wasn't the case. Thanks again for the nibbles at the end of the day. It certainly makes for a pleasant way to finish. Remember that Monday is a public holiday so general sailing day which gives everyone a chance to make adjustments try things out and have fun with less pressure on the competition. Could be a bit windy though?

Another great day. Welcome to Letitia sailing 16 (for the first time and did exceptionally well) - check out race 9!! Winds were at top of 'A' rig with occasional gusts above. Ben was lazy as usual ands stayed with 'B' rig though there was little difference picking up on the beats and losing a bit on the runs. Grahame sailed well - consistent all day. B Rigs for all, except Richard with winch problems on the number 1 boat, had to resort to the poor old reserve boat with a C rig although he did well once the handicap caught up. Great to see Rod back sailing, unfortunately only a couple of races until battery problems forced a stop, nice to get Roger off the golf course on a Friday. A consistent 15 -20 knots made for great sailing for all. As always, thanks to Tilly and our magnificent PRO Phil.

Good day for sailing and not too hot, all starting with A rigs. Bob changed to B rig due to the wind, 15 knots gusting over 20 from the WSW good fast racing and a bit tricky with the wind all over the place. Nice to see (THE OLD FELLA) Rod Gregory who joined us for a sail with his IOM, it’s the first time Rod has sailed it so look out after he’s had some practice. Thanks Phil (PRO) for keeping everything under control and Roger for the snacks.

Oh dear! what was it like?? Mild temp, plenty of wind for 'B' rigs, bulk standard course and some exciting and close sailing. Roger was clear winner with plenty of speed to windward and OK downwind despite his sails only half way out. (You'll fix it one day Roger). Good to see Phil looking after us and encouraging drinks during the day. It is only too easy to become dehydrated in our winds and especially important for the ones getting older (most of us!).

Six keen sailors all with A rigs, Graham came late and Ben left early, Phil set a port course going south to the first mark with the wind SSE at 12 knots and not too hot at 27🌤. Well it was 'A' rig then it wasn't, then it was. Dennis stayed n 'A' rig all day and scraped into No 1 position, the rest stayed on 'B' rigs. There was good racing with some exciting legs and different courses. Our fleet was almost taken out by a GRYC start boat that could surely have waited the 30 seconds for us to clear the course? Oh well, WE try to do the right thing and make contact with boats from the Marina in our area to negotiate clear passage. Monday looks like being on again

Another 'B' rig day with winds to 20 knots but a bit variable in strength and direction. Still, exciting stuff and close racing. Just a few seconds at the start can make it difficult to catch the bunch as everyone up to hull speed and beyond.
Phil graciously accepted that he is the best pro this group has ever had and we rewarded him with a Christmas gift. Everyone is looking to be treated better in future though (is that possible??). Great breeze to 20 knots so all on 'B' rig. Almost a Starboard hand course but not quite! Great sailing conditions with yachts flying around the course. Ben was late and broke a shroud after a few races so sat out and annoyed the PRO for the rest of the day. Racing and results were close with Dennis sneaking in ahead of Don. Sailing on Monday and brief meeting after to determine when sailing will happen over Christmas - New Year

Plenty of wind from the WSW and all on 'B' rigs. A standard P/H course saw some exciting reaches back to the Marina area - good fun sailing! Despite the conditions no damage this time though a wire popped off Grahame's steering arm luckily in the Marina area so no hassle to retrieve. Don and Bob again showed their potential in the heavier conditions and were well clear in the end. Sailing this Friday and the following Monday. Decision then about the Christmas - New Year time.

A rather pleasant day with a steady SSW breeze to 12 knots max. Back to a standard port hand course with minimal weed interference. Graham arrived with keel all fixed and proudly put into the pond only to sail circles (clockwise it seems) due to a broken rudder arm. Don had a part and he was back in the water after a quick fix.

Despite the attrition during the day, all said it was a pleasant enjoyable one. (I knew sailors were crazy!) Grahame lost a keel and found it again - great effort Grahame! Dennis broke a shroud and almost lost the mast - just a replacement job. Bob lost a forestay but managed to recover it and Don almost lost his yacht but able to see it at all times and with great skill recovered it from a sticky situation. A windward return course - 2 legs - avoided most of the dreaded weed after a while. Phil set a good course with a beat to windward going south and a square run north.

Hot and sticky, wind from the SSE at 10-12 knots, a standard port hand course. Sounds good? BUT, a big weed problem as yacht after yacht came to a complete stop or significantly slowed the speed! Let's hope this clears soon though you have to be a confident positive person to believe it. We managed 12 races - just- and headed for the bar.
