Another very close race with three yachts on 21 points and only cout back to separate them. Conditions were tricky with big wind shifts. At about 12 knots, fading at times , it was 'A' rig alround. The NW direction added some intereast requiring a good beat from thed jetty mark into the Marina.

A very mild day with winds from many directions. Wind speed around 8 to 10 knots. Phil set the famous Y course and we do ask sometimes why he likes this course but who knows, he is the boss and we are happy with that. Thanks Phil for great control on the day. (Report by Don)

What a great day with gentle 10k winds from SW?? and mild conditions with no rain. We welcomed back Steve Wade with a new yacht. What an amazing set of results where the top 4 positions were only separated by one point so almost any of the 4 could have won with only one position change in any of the races. How important it is to be consistent!

Quite a pleasant sailing day with gentle 10 knot winds from the SE or so and mild temperatures and no rain! Peter has his new yacht going well and was near the front all day. Roger is also very consistent in these breezes. The rest of us were there some of the time. Phile was definitely there all the time and kept the races flowing. Apologies to Peter for incorrect yacht image but it's all I have. Will fix before next win!

Three sailing with A rigs Don with B rig, wind SSW 12>15 knots some gusts 20 knots, Phil set the usual Y course which gave us some windward legs and fast reaches. No rain while sailing.

Plenty of wind (15-20 knots) from West or thereabouts and all on 'B' rig this time. The wind did vary considerably and was a bit lighter at times. Phil kept us going and we managed to get 13 races - good for Phil's standard Y course.

As usual these days there was not much in the racing with many close finishes and overall close results. We had one short shower but the weather settled for a pleasant day and a nice little drink afterwards.

What a funny day! Ben arrived late under pressure with an 'A' rig. The rest had started with 'B' rigs in a strong breeze. The wind died a bit and Ben had the correct rig. The wind eventually faded completely so retiring for a drink was the best option. Peter enjoyed the day with his new MX 26.

A pleasant day with S -SE winds. A fair bit of weed around which had a bearing on the results for some sailors. Thanks Phil for taking control for the day.

It was a very gentle day with winds from the East below 10 knots. It eventually faded to below 4 knots so an early finish made sense.

A gentle pleasant day with SSE winds to 10 knots max. Don has his yacht going very well in these conditions and was consistent all day. Great day with tasty nibbles by Richard to finish the day. Ben was spoiled with a healthy, wholemeal, ham salad sandwich - thanks Richard.

A very pleasant day with gentle breezes from the East with maybe a little south in it. With Phil's standard 'Y' course we had some excellent well contested races. The Team's Racing did interfere with our time a little but all enjoyed the day

A pleasant enough day but too much weed made conditions tricky. It did clear a little later in the day. Conditions were gentle 'A' rig from somewhere east - SSE according to some SE to others and starting at E according to the rest

While only three sailors and one PRO, we had an exciting day's sailing with plenty of breeze and all three on 'B' rigs. Our standard Y course was set by Phil and proved once again to test all directions of sailing. Don just loves these days and showed good speed all day. There were times when the wind displayed it's tricks and one race with Ben 40m in front where he ended up last as the gusts came from behind allowing the two following yachts to catch up and panic by Ben caused a mark contact.

Another great Autumn day with gentle 10 knot breezes from the East swinging slowly to the SE by the end of sailing. ith most of the course just off the wind it was important to get clear wind andcover the following yachts.

Another lovely day in Goolwa 20° and sunny, when was from the South 10 to 12 knots we had close racing on the Y course that Phil set all with A rigs.

A pleasant breeze of 10 knots from the south. Sailing started normal but then it turned into mad March with all setting their own course, which was OK but all of the sailors dementia kicked in and couldn't remember which way to go, so it was back to the control of Phil (thank goodness)

Good racing, Phil set a Y course heading into a S SE 8>12 knot breeze all with A rigs which gave a close finish, Phil had a race using Bob’s boat and sailed very well. Drinks and a chat as usual after a good afternoon racing.

Another of those top of 'A' rig generally though Bob on his 'B' rig suffered a bit on the runs. A few big gusts made for some submarining but not too bad. Phil kept the racing going with a standard 'Y' course.

A good 'A' rig day with most getting some podium finishes through the day (not Ben though). It was a bit hot/muggy but we managed 13 races thanks to good leadership from Phil.

An interesting day when it started quite hot with a breeze which eventually found its way southward. Then a big heavy shower of rain interrupted the sailing, allowing us a couple more races after it stopped. Roger again showed excellent pace and an ability to point high and still maintain speed.

How do you do it Phil such excellent handicapping???? All three with same raw score, same discard and same final score and all podium finishes! Talk about everyone a winner!! It was a great 'B' rig day with plenty of wind although somewhat shifty.

Well, back to a real 'A' rig day with some close racing and pleasant conditions with wind to 12 knots from South and warm temperature.

Twas a good day with a somewhat variable breeze from the S at about 12 knots average. All on 'A' rig. Ben's crew forgot to cover all deck holes so nearly sunk after 5 races and not game to continue with wet internals. Roger was clear winner on the day. Phil set his new standard Y course and this is proving to give a better range of sailing conditions.

It was definitely 'B' rig weather so all except Ben were on these rigs. Ben struggled all day but a slight lessing of the breeze at the end helped a bit. Breezes to 18 knots from SSE gave us some good runs, reaches and beats.

At last an 'A' rig day - just! With gusty variable winds from the NE it was reach, reach, reach ,reach and reach so yachts were flying around the course. The turn at the jetty buoy was tricky as the there were waves coming through and it required a 180 degree turn into the seaway and yachts were often caught in irons half way through. Ben struggled all day, Bob damaged his 'A' rig and finished on 'B' so it was a three way tussle at the front with Roger showing the way.

I think we have 'A' rigs but they certainly haven't been used for a while and again this was at least a 'B' rig day. Bob started with 'C' sails but the breeze eased slightly later and required a change. Don was consistent tall day with a plethora of second places which along with three firsts consolidated his win. It does look like Friday wind will be about 12 knots so maybe 'A' rigs??

Most on 'C' rigs and Ben on 'B'. It was just doable as the breeze fluctuated over the course. Wing was gsuting well into the high 20's but probably averaged low 20s Exciting sailing though and the 'C rigs are great to sail in the gusts as they just keep powering along.

Another 'B' rig day but this made it easy sailing and close racing. The wind was all over the place with occasional holes so attention was needed to respond. Phil set the now standard 'Y' course which seems to give a better range of sailing angles to deal with.

A day of attrition with Don out before we started and Richard losing steering later so an early finish to the day. Again we have two yachts with the same No of 1st second and third places (excluding drops) so result is based on the position of the last race in the series.

All on 'B' rigs which was definitely the way to go! 15 knots plus from the Westerly direction kept all boats moving fast. Phil stuck with the two loop course which suited the conditions well. All enjoyed the day and the sausage rolls courtesy of Roger finished the day

Another trying day at the top of 'A' rig - a little overpowered at times but doable in our sheltered waters. Winds from the West again so plenty of variation in sailing required around the two loop course. Richard supplied a well received nibble after tehg race even supplying a special diet for Ben - very good it was too wholemeal salad SW!

Another wild day with all on 'B' rigs except Dennis who is lacking one! Dennis was overpowered particularly at the jibe mark but he did have some great runs when he survived the gusts. Richard was consistent with Don and Ben pushing him. Phil again set an extra sausage in the shortened leg to the jetty

It was a bit like Friday but the difference - we were all on 'B' rigs! Phil set a standard course and introduced a sausage because of the closer buoy on the second leg. Everyone was up to hull speed in the reaching and running course making it difficult to make gains. Stil it was exciting sailing, displaying the power the one metre yachts can generate with the 'B' rig'. Bob starred again in these conditions and was clearly the best on the day.

It was a great day for 'B' rigs - about middle of range form the WSW at 15 plus knots. Close racing and good skills saw many exciting finishes. Bob loves these conditions and made the most of his opportunities. We all had wins so consistency is the key - getting that one more placing makes a lot of difference.

very different day for wind than was predicted at the top of "A" rig with very fast down wind runs to the Marina. Bob swapped to "B" rig which was a good move, he kept up with the "A" rigs. Rod had electric problems and gave it away when his boat ended up in the ropes in the Marina. Thanks to Phil for his great work.

An exciting day with wind gusts well into the high 20 knots and some incredible waves to catch coming in from the jetty buoy. 'B' rigs were the order of the day though at times it could have been 'C' weather - that wouldn't have been as much fun tho! Interesting results with Don, Richard and Roger ending on 36 points - excellent handicapping Phil!

Twas a good day from memory, though Don had issues with a winch and Richard tried desperately to recreate an EV fire incident but those prove difficult to initiate so just some smoke! Good to have Roger back and it seems having not lost any of his speed around the course.

Well I seem to remember an enjoyable day with gentle breezes to 12 knots. We tried the use of two buoys at the northern end of the course. It did keep yachts from interfering with the fleet after heading for the finish but we had an issue with sufficient space due to a moored yacht close by. Still worth trying again though.

AA great spring day with 10 knots or so of breeze. Thwe wind did a 180 move during the racing starting from the N going S. Phil kept us going though Ben lost a shroud and other had small problems. Good to see Mal C again and he did =well considering he hadn't sailed his one metre for a couple of years?

Phil set a northerly going course with both inner buoys left to starboard. Two laps seemed more than enough in the 20 plus knot westerly. Despite clear instructions the leading yacht in the first race left the southerly buoy to port!! Now who was in front again?? We all settled into the races with gusts to 30 knots initially though it faded a bit at the end.

Well! 2 straight for Don! Looks like he's got his yacht going well now. We only got through the 14 races as we waited for the Pacers to swap crews in the middle of the day giving us a pleasant break. Phil also chose to close the day at exactly the right time as the drops of rain started just after we had finished packing up. Just another great day!

It was a perfect top of 'A' rig day almost. There were strange wind holes and shifts to keep the sailors on their toes. Still a great day with some close racing and excellent pro-ing.

What a day Winds with gusts well into the 30ks so Phil set an inshore course with two laps which was just right as concentration was required to keep the yachts up and going forward so we needed a rest after the two laps.

Richard and Peter were the consistent sailors on Friday. Conditions were a little tricky as breeze kept swinging and varying in strength so concentration was necessary to keep speed up. A greatv 'A' rig day where getting clear wind was most important. Mostly those boats in front at the end won the race!

The breeze was top of 'A' rig and all on 'A's' except Ben on a 'B' rig. Not much between them as breeze swung between 15plus knots where Ben was good and 10 knots where the rest had the advantage. A battery issue seemed to cause a problem as three yachts lost power at times while Richard had sheet issues. Dennis good all day. The added practice at West Lakes may be paying off.

A bit of a bu..er of a day for Ben and Dennis - both started on 'A' rigs both overpowered and lots of last places and second to last places. Ben changed to 'B' like the rest of the fleet while Dennis powered on.. Despite the wind fading later it was too late for Dennis despite a string of first places as he had had too many lasts to compensate. Ben never looked like making up for being lazy. Bob, Richard and Peter charged on with well deserved placings.

Just the three of us on a very quiet day so only got the 12 races complete. Fickle winds required full concentration to get the most from the few gusts and wind changes around. Nevertheless an enjoyable day - ps the grass is growing fast up through the new soil. Now where did that come from again??

Well, three sailors really enjoyed the afternoon and had a good time. Each skipper had a chance to set the wrong courses which worked very well. Not a bad day with winds to 12 knots from the WNW. Bob and Richard spent considerable time setting up Bob's rig particularly the main and it certainly paid dividends as Bob Blitzed the Bouys. Good to see Graham back again and sailing very well. Phil again kept us all honest most of the time and allowed us to have an enjoyable sail.

The rain stayed away and so did the wind and it had trouble deciding where to blow from so it was a bit of a lottery. We finished early as the breeze died entirely at the end. (I tried my best Don - maybe Friday when there is a blow happening?)

Another gentle day to compliment the standard southerly port hand course that Phil set us. The breeze never got above 10 knots but it did wander about quite a bit giving some good lifts if you happened to be in the right place. The temperature was still low but wind chill factor wasn't a factor??

NNot too bad a day considering the previous few days. No rain fair breeze and only one tsunami - but it was a big one! Phil set a southerly port hand course which suited the conditions well giving some nice beats, reaches and runs.

Just the three of us on a blustery 'B' rig day with a port hand course set by Phil. Richard had the speed today particularly on the run to the first mark and the broad reach to the far buoy - quite spectacular really. The rest of the course was fairly even as boats were up to speed and pretty even. It was cold! but no rain. Tilly is on the mend but needs Bob's attention to keep his activity to a minimum while his leg heals from a cruciate ligament operation.

Another great day for Winter with a bit of sunshine, 10-12 knots of NW breeze and 4 happy sailors and i happy PRO. Good to see Tim out again though he did have a few issues with his yacht but he finished on a good note with a couple of wins.

Another strange day with wind all over the place but generally from the West generally below 12 knots. With a standard port hand course set by Phil, we all made goods speed around the course. It was cold and the rain that eventuated later in the day didn't help. Phil eventually cancelled racing when sailors were showing stress and results sheets getting wet etc.

It was supposed to be 12-15 knots from ENE but started 15 knots from NNE. Unfortunately for Don who had chosen a 'B' rig (the rest on 'A' rigs), the breeze dropped out eventually to a drifter from a Northerly direction. It was cold when the wind was blowing but luckily no rain, but then as Phil would say "It never rains here!"

It was supposed to be 12 knots all the time but anywhere between 0 and 12 was the case. The wind was commonly from the East but often wasn't. Grahame is back all systems go and got the podium.

Another 'A' rig day though winds were a little variable to 10 knots from the ESE direction mostly. Ben had issues in the first race when the winch stopped working. A hard reboot seemed to fix the problem?? Not so with Don who had a similar issue but this time it wouldn't respond to any of the guaranteed fixes we tried.

Just the 4 sailors in gentle conditions but quite chilly! Wind direction fluctuated quite a bit from SE to ENE to a max of 8 knots or so. Ben loves the light breezes and snuck in ahead of Don. Phil sailed Richard's yacht in the last race and didn't disgrace while Richard took some more shots from him nifty little drone. Love to see the results of this soon!

Well done Danny! Sorry forgot to image your vessel so can't display 125 on the this page this time. The weathere was definitely top of 'B' rig and we only survived that bexause there was no sea running and it's always a little calmer in the closer Marina area. Still it was close back to Bob, Roger and Richard. Ben had a flat transmitter battery half way through but was enjoying the sailing in the trying conditions

A great day for sailing wind, sun and 7 yachts (at least for a while). Grahame had winch issues and will need tpo get it seen to. A pity Danny came a little late as he had his yacht going well and quickly ended up with a low HCap. Roger has consistent boat speed and just snuck in for a win.

We had a quick representation of the 2024-25 season winner where Richard got his trophy with engraving this time. The far buoy continues to be an issue with vision difficult. Just be a little forgiving rounding this mark as even though an issue may not be your fault this time it will probably be so the next time.

We thought Monday was calm!! This Friday (the 13th as Phil reminded us) started off with no wind and finished with less than no wind if that's even possible. The highlight of the day was the cute little drone Richard has which recorded our lack of movement

A funny day with WNW to start with and plenty of power so Ben and Roger on 'B' rigs wasn't so silly. We definitely suffered later as the breeze almost completely died at the end of racing. Still it is always a challenge to do well with the smaller rig as it is an advantage in the stronger winds which swaps to a disadvantage as the winds ease.

For some strange reason, Ben and Richard thought braving the treacherous winds with gusts over 40 knots causing Richard's hat to blow overboard and nearly dislodging Ben from the wharf was going to be fun???? How silly were they as the yachts nosedived and broached all over the course. Ben had issues with water in his boat as it became heavier and heavier to lift out. It ended up close to half full not really surviving the last race. That was enough so common sense prevailed. Meanwhile Bob who didn't even bring a boat sat back and shook his head with disbelief. Phil just pressed on seeing just how silly the two sailors could get!

We had a presentation for the Friday series under shelter. Ben one Richard 2 and Bob 3. The ongoing best sailor for the year was also presented. Richard won this from Ben so he had a great year. See below for details
